Serpent Pendant0London Road Jewellery have recently launched the new Kew Serpent Collection for 2013. The collection includes a fabulous snake bangle, pendent necklaces, earrings and rings in a textured yellow gold with ruby eyes set on some pieces.

The snake is one of the oldest jewellery motifs and snake bracelets were pictured on the arm of Cleopatra. The Victorian fascination for serpent jewellery began with a love story in 1940 when Queen Victoria married her beloved Albert. The engagement ring was a snake wraparound with an emerald set head. It was said to represent eternal love and began the Victorian obsession with serpent jewellery, featuring on rings, brooches and pendant necklaces.

Snake bangle12013 is the Chinese year of the snake and it’s no coincidence that catwalks and highstreets are filled with python prints and faux snakeskin shoes and bags. Snake necklaces have been spotted on Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker, and Angelina Jolie. Drew Barrymore has been seen wearing stacks of snake bangles whilst Jessica Alba and Rihanna have been seen sporting fabulous snake rings.

The Serpent collection can be purchased online from the London Road website and delivered free of charge to UK Mainland addresses. The collection can also be purchased from one of our many stockists around the country.

The new Kew Serpent collection by London Road is a modern interpretation of snake jewellery from the Victorian era, influenced by the Chinese 2013 year of the snake. The collection reflects the continuing trend for stylish organic pieces of contemporary jewellery. The Serpent collection is 9 carat solid yellow gold with a wonderfully rich textured finish.
